City quiz raises over £2,300 for the Robins Foundation’s food delivery scheme

The online evening of trivia has so far raised £2,395 for Bristol City Robins Foundation’s COVID-19 relief efforts.

City fans were last week (May 22nd) treated to a night of fun and trivia by quizmaster and all round funny man Olly Slym. The night - which included a number of surprises and special guests from the likes of Lee Johnson, Han Noah Massengo, Jon Stead, and Joe Sims amongst many others - was held in aid of the fantastic work being carried out by City’s official charity – Bristol City Robins Foundation.

The Robins Foundation use sport as a means to build relationships of trust with vulnerable young people across Bristol. The charity have utilised these existing relationships and their in-depth knowledge of the local community to provide support to those most in need during these challenging times.

Since the beginning of ‘lockdown’, the Foundation have worked with Ashton Gate Stadium to significantly increase their food delivery to some of the communities most vulnerable individuals.

Each week the Robins Foundation’s team of dedicated staff and volunteers deliver in excess of 700 food parcels and lunches to some of the city’s most vulnerable families.

Bristol City Robins Foundation Chief Executive Officer, Dan White, commented: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who sponsored and donated to support our work.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the individuals and businesses who have offered their support with our food delivery efforts. It is really heart-warming to see our community pull together during these challenging times."

The £2,395 (which is set to rise thanks to the ongoing fundraising efforts of Portishead Town FC Under 10s) raised by the quiz will enable the Foundation to continue to carry out their vital work during these challenging times.
