George Saville says he jumped at the chance to join a side that plays football the right way.
The 21-year-old joined on a 93-day emergency loan from Wolves last week and made a cameo appearance at the end of City’s 2-0 victory over Scunthorpe United.
After finding his chances limited at Molineux, Saville is “chomping at the bit” to get on the pitch in a City shirt.
“I signed for Wolves in August but we just felt it was best if I got out and played some games,” he told Bristol City Player.
“It’s difficult for me personally to be sat on the bench. I want to express myself and show people what I can do.
“There’s not many clubs you can pick and say ‘they play the right way’. I’ve seen them this year and they look a really promising side so hopefully I can help that.”
Saville is available for City’s FA Cup tie against West Ham United on Sunday (2pm).
The midfielder is aware of City’s progress in the league but admits the lure of playing in such a prestigious competition is something he’s looking forward to.
He said: “Obviously the league is priority but it’s nice to be playing in the FA Cup and getting the chance to play West Ham on Sunday.
“It’s a great opportunity for the lads and it’s fantastic for the football club to be involved in a fixture like that.
“It’s a win-win situation really; we’re obviously the underdogs but we’re going to go and play and it’s the FA Cup so anything can happen.”
