Lee Johnson and Aden Flint have landed the Sky Bet Championship Manager and Player of the Month awards for September.
The City pair received the honours after the team achieved 14 points out of a possible 18 during the calendar month, at the same time extending their unbeaten run in all competitions to 11 matches.
It is actually City’s best unbeaten run in the second tier since 1975 (August-October), in the campaign the club last achieved promotion to the top flight.
The month began with a 1-0 win at Reading, where Flint powered home a late winner. Flint was also on the scoresheet in a 3-3 thriller at Wolves three days later.
Much-fancied Derby County were dispatched 4-1 at Ashton Gate – with Flint scoring for a third straight game – days before City ousted Premier League side Stoke City from the Carabao Cup.
Back in the Championship, City recorded a goalless draw at Norwich City before beating struggling Bolton Wanderers 2-0.
To complete the superb month, Johnson’s side secured their first win at Portman Road for 39 years when goals from Josh Brownhill, Famara Diédhiou and Bobby Reid secured a 3-1 success.
