Bristol City FC has won the Family Excellence Award from The Football League for the sixth year running.
Created in 2007, the award recognises the outstanding experience provided by clubs for young fans and families as part of a scheme that won the Gold Award at the European Professional Football Leagues’ Best Practice Awards.
A total of 42 clubs from across all three divisions of The Football League have achieved the award for 2015, with a significant increase in the benchmark standard being applied by the judging panel.
City are one of those clubs, proving the Ashton Gate club continue to provide families with engaging and innovative matchday entertainment.
Already for 2015/16 season tickets in City’s Family Section have sold out.
Bristol Sport CEO, Andrew Billingham, commented:
“I’m extremely proud of our dedicated team. It’s been a challenging season during the rebuild and to be awarded this really shows the commitment and support we have had from supporters and staff.
"Our objective is to open the new stadium for everybody to be proud of and hopefully continue winning acclaim on the pitch (grounds and playing) and off the pitch.”
The award recipients are decided by an independent assessment using real families that has been commissioned by The Football League, at all 72 League clubs, during the 2014/15 season.
