Josh Brownhill is riding the momentum wave and believes it can help City achieve another positive result against Hull City.
The Robins head to the KCOM Stadium this Saturday (August 24th, 3pm KO) off the back of consecutive wins against QPR and Derby County, respectively.
Brownhill, who has been handed the captain’s armband in the absence of Bailey Wright, is now hoping to lead his teammates to a third-consecutive victory in the Sky Bet Championship.
He said: “I think getting those back-to-back wins in this league is always difficult especially with a new team, so we’ve done really well especially the one against Derby. I thought the boys did excellent and deserved the win.
“Going into this weekend, the momentum is very high and we’re looking to get the three points.”
Wins breed confidence and as such there is belief that the Robins can make it nine points from nine though the midfielder knows of the Tigers’ threats.
“They (Hull City) are a good team, we’ve played them quite a few times now and they’ve always caused us problems,” he said. “So we go into it like we go into any other game. We’ll focus on ourselves and we’ll go there to definitely get the win which I’m sure that we will.”
And reflecting on his captaincy role, Brownhill is thriving off the opportunity.
He continued: “Yeah, I’ve really enjoyed it to be honest. I was delighted when the gaffer told me I was going to be captain. He’s put a lot of responsibility and trust into me and hopefully I’ve repaid him on the pitch. I’ve been delighted.”
