City Boss Shortlisted For April Award

Steve Cotterill has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One manager award for the month of April.

It is the fourth month in succession, and sixth time this season, that the 50-year-old has been included on the four-man shortlist.

It was another demanding period for City, who played six league games in the space of 22 days, winning three and drawing three.

City started the month with a 1-1 draw at Oldham Athletic, bouncing back to victory with a comfortable 3-0 win over Swindon Town in front of the Sky Sports cameras at Ashton Gate.

Aaron Wilbraham’s equaliser at Deepdale earned a draw against Preston North End, before promotion was clinched in style at Bradford as City cruised to a 6-0 win at Valley Parade.

The Sky Bet League One title was clinched a week later in a frustrating goalless draw with Coventry City – the club’s first championship in 60 years.

Chesterfield were City’s final opponents of the month, where Kieran Agard and Aden Flint helped secure a routine win for Cotterill’s side.

The City boss faces competition for the accolade Paul Cook (Chesterfield), Simon Grayson (Preston North End) and Karl Robinson (MK Dons).

The winner will be announced on tomorrow.
