City beat Rovers in Football Manager Cup

City ran out 3-1 winners over Bristol Rovers in the first round of the Football Manager Cup.

Life-long fan, Robins Nest podcast co-host and Youtuber Mikey Cobban managed the in-game City side on Thursday evening, where Kasey Palmer, Han-Noah Massengo and Famara Diédhiou got on the scoresheet.

Though a goalless first half, Rovers went down to ten men after Josh Barrett's red card. City made the most of the man advantage with Palmer scoring from the penalty spot five minutes after the break.

The Gas levelled almost immediately through Josh Ginnelly's well struck effort but Han-Noah Massengo hit a sweet strike of his own to restore the Robins' lead, before Diédhiou nodded home the third in stoppage time.

A live stream of the Football Manager encounter was broadcast and highlights will be released in due course.

City enter the second round, which is scheduled for next week - commencing April 27th.
