Bristol City have appointed Dave Barton as their new head of communications.
With 25 years’ experience as a sports journalist and media manager, Dave has operated at the highest level of elite team sport communications.
He arrives at Ashton Gate from the British & Irish Lions, where he was head of communications, and before then senior communications manager for the England rugby team at three World Cups.
Bristol City chief executive officer Mark Ashton said: “Dave is a highly experienced and skilled communications professional who has worked at the very top level of team sport and we are delighted to have recruited him. Dave will bring valuable expertise to Bristol City’s communications and we are looking forward to welcoming him on board for the start of the season.”
A former journalist for the Western Daily Press in Bristol and Chief Sportswriter for the Western Morning News in Plymouth, Dave has lived in the Bristol area for 20 years.
