City are aiming to keep Elliott Bennett at Ashton Gate after a positive loan period to date.
The Norwich City wing-back has been a regular in the team since arriving in October, making 15 appearances.
Now manager Steve Cotterill is in discussions with his parent club about prolonging Bennett’s stay at Ashton Gate.
“We’re talking to Norwich about Elliott and those discussions are ongoing,” confirmed the City manager, who wouldn’t go into specifics about whether he would be seeking a permanent deal or loan extension.
However, while Bennett may remain at City, Simon Cox (Reading), Callum Robinson (Aston Villa) and Liam Moore (Leicester City) will all be heading back to their clubs on Monday.
Adam El-Abd’s loan spell at Swindon Town has also expired.
Pat Lam was full of praise for a rocking atmosphere at Ashton Gate as Bears secured a bonus point victory.
