City add Swindon to pre-season calendar

City will face Swindon Town in a pre-season encounter this Saturday (August 29th).

The Sky Bet League Two champions head to Ashton Gate, in what will be the first M4 derby between the two teams - albeit in a friendly fixture - since April 2015.

Kieran Agard, Joe Bryan and Aaron Wilbraham were on target on the evening of April 7th as City crept closer to the League One title of that unforgettable double-winning campaign.

Fast forward five years later and Richie Wellens’ Robins would be crowned winners of the fourth tier, via a points-per-game finish in June, after the League Two campaign was curtailed due to the Covid-19 pandemic’s impact.

Supporters are reminded that Saturday’s pre-season match will be played behind closed doors.

It’s another chance to get minutes under the belt before City’s 2020/21 season kicks off a week later with a Carabao Cup first round tie with Exeter City.
