City add Shrewsbury date to pre-season diary

City will face Shrewsbury Town in a pre-season friendly next month.

John Askey’s squad will visit Ashton Gate on Saturday, July 14th (1pm kick-off), just 24 hours before the Robins jet off to Marbella for a seven-day warm weather training camp.

Town excelled last season and came agonisingly close to promotion, but lost in extra time to Rotherham United in the League One play-off final.

This fixture will be the first of two home pre-season friendlies scheduled, with the Premier League's AFC Bournemouth visiting BS3 on July 27th (7pm) as preparations for the 2018/19 campaign continue.

Tickets details will be released in due course.

City’s pre-season schedule:

Sunday, July 8th (2pm) v Bitton AFC (A)
Tuesday, July 10th (7.30pm) v Cheltenham Town (N)
Wednesday, July 11th (7.30pm) v Newport County (A)
Saturday, July 14th (1pm) v Shrewsbury Town (H)
Friday, July 27th (7pm) v AFC Bournemouth (H)
