Jack Hunt said it felt like Christmas Day as City wrapped up 2019 with three points in a 3-0 win over Luton Town.
Hunt assisted Andreas Weimann’s near-post goal, the Robins’ third of the afternoon on Sunday, having been fouled to win City a penalty in the first half, from which Famara Diédhiou scored to gift City a 2-0 half-time lead.
Hunt was pleased City were able to bounce back and end the calendar year on a high.
He said: “It feels like Christmas Day today for us. It’s been what seems a long-time coming we know results and performances haven’t been good enough and it hurt us so to bounce back the way we have is very pleasing.
“It was a fantastic day. I’ve dried up a little bit with assists recently so it’s nice to get another one on the board.
“The manager set us up in a way that he wanted and felt he could win us this game. He stuck to that plan very well and every single person won their individual battles. In recent games we can hold our hands up and day that wasn’t the case. If you get seven or eight players who win their individual battles you know you’re likely to come away with a victory.”
City return to action in BS3 on New Year’s Day when they host Brentford.
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
