New Zealand international Olivia Chance has signed with Bristol City Women ahead of the new Barclays FA Women’s Super League campaign.
The creative midfielder was a mainstay in the Football Ferns midfield at this summer’s World Cup, starting all three group games in France despite missing the majority of the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Chance also brings Barclays FA Women’s Super League experience have spent three season at Everton Ladies and the twenty five year-old spoke of her delight to join City Women.
“I’m really excited to be involved with Bristol City. I’ve heard a lot of positive things from both players and coaches from around the world, so I’m looking forward to getting started.
“The club and team environment seems really positive, and Tanya seems to have brought a new level to Bristol City and she seems like a very good coach and I look forward to getting started under her.”

The midfielder believes there is no better way to kick off the new season than at Ashton Gate and Chance hopes this season can be the catalyst for pushing women’s football forward and developing the sport further.
“It’s the perfect way to start the season, in a stadium such as Ashton Gate. Hopefully we can get a big crowd, put on a good performance for them and get a win.
“Having the World Cup so recently is going to bring people to the game, and with the home Euros in 2021 it’s all positive for the women’s football and hopefully we can build on it.”
Bristol City Women will take on Brighton & Hove Albion at Ashton Gate Stadium on Saturday, September 7th (3pm) and tickets are available here.
