✍️ Cataldo signs to stay in the West Country

Lia Cataldo has signed a new deal that will see her stay with the Robins until June 2023.

The 21-year-old joined Lauren Smith's side after being crowned champions of the FA Women's Championship with Leicester City in the 2020/21 season.

The defender made 27 appearances for the Robins last season including a start in City's record-breaking fixture at Ashton Gate against Liverpool back in April.

Cataldo is keen to continue the form in her excellent first season with the West Country side as she looks to emulate her former clubs success.

City's full-back spoke of her delight upon signing a new deal: "I'm delighted to commit to Bristol City for another season as I can see that we're going in the right direction and making great progress, so it was an easy decision to make.

"As soon as I arrived at the start of last season all the players and staff made me feel welcome, that hasn't changed and that's why I love it here - it's a great group.

"I managed to play consistently and get a lot of game time last season and that experience has made me more determined to kick on and help the club finish top of the table come the end of the season."
