"Buzzing" Reid hits milestone 20 goals for season

Bobby Reid has set himself a target of even more goals after securing a major milestone during City's 3-1 victory over Birmingham City.

The striker netted to make it 2-0 on Tuesday night, bringing up his 20th goal of the 2017/18 campaign.

Eighteen of those goals have come in the Sky Bet Championship, putting him in the running for the golden boot, with a further two goals scored during City's Carabao Cup run.

Now Reid wants to hit 20 league goals, with four games remaining as City push for a place in the play-offs.

Speaking to BCTV after the 3-1 win over the Blues, Reid said: "We’re buzzing to get the three points. Everyone knew we needed the win and internally we made sure that we played our hearts out and got the three points."

Describing his goal, Reid continued: "I was playing off the left and the ball was clipped out to Diédhiou. I screamed at him to nod the ball down which he did perfectly. I still had a bit to do but if I could hit it with a clean connection and hit it low then I hoped it could go in.

"I’m buzzing to be on the pitch, wherever the gaffer wants me to play. I always give 100 per cent and on Tuesday night it worked.

"As a striker, 20 goals is a milestone that everybody wants to reach and hopefully now I can get 20 league goals. I’m buzzing to have hit the milestone but more important is that we have got the three points.

"It gives us great confidence going into the next game at Middlesbrough.

"The pressure is more on them. We can sit back a bit and break on them and hopefully get the three points to put us back in the mix."
