Bryan Learning From City Great

Joe Bryan has revealed he has sought crossing advice from an old Bristol City favourite.

City’s ex-winger-turned-kitman Scott Murray has been offering guidance to the 22-year-old to improve his deliveries.

Bryan picked up 14 assists from left wing-back last season, and has added two in his last two games of this campaign.

The Bristolian believes mixing up his options is healthy.

“I’ve been talking to Scotty – the master of crossing for Bristol City!” he joked to Bristol City Player HD.

“He’s been helping me with my crossing choice and what he used to do, which is great.

”I think sometimes I get into positions and just smash it across the six-yard box and no one can get their toes on it, but picking out players is something I’m trying to do and mixing my crosses up to keep defenders guessing – at the moment it’s working.”

Steve Cotterill’s side return to home action for the first time in three weeks when they face Reading tomorrow (3pm).

City are yet to earn maximum points at Ashton Gate, but after Tuesday’s “positive performance” against Preston North End, Bryan is looking forward to getting back in front of home support.

He said: “It’ll be nice to get back there and play in front of our fans again after a decent result on Tuesday.

“Everyone’s frustrated we haven’t won at home yet but the fans have been brilliant and they’ve been getting behind us.

“We’ve been playing well and hopefully we can win tomorrow.”

Tickets for tomorrow’s match at Ashton Gate remain on general sale in the Atyeo Stand and Dolman Stand. Click here to secure your seat online now.
