City hope to have Joe Bryan available for Saturday's televised clash with Middlesbrough (5.30pm kick-off).
The Bristolian was absent from City's 3-2 win at Hull City after sustaining a hip injury in the previous encounter with Preston North End.
However, assistant head coach Jamie McAllister revealed at the weekly press conference that Bryan should be welcomed back into the fold this weekend.
The same can't be said for Callum O'Dowda, who is set to undergo surgery on his ankle tomorrow (Thursday).
McAllister told BCTV: "It's a big blow to lose Callum because he's been in good form.
"We know he'll have surgery tomorrow and then we should find out after that the extent of how long we'll be without him.
"Fortunately we should have Joe Bryan available again after his recent injury. Aside from that, we have no fresh injuries in the camp."
O'Dowda is added to the list of long-term injured players, with Famara Diédhiou, Eros Pisano, Jens Hegeler and Gary O'Neil already sidelined.
