Josh Brownhill believes Bristol City’s recent victory over tonight’s hosts Ipswich Town will serve them well at Portman Road.
Goals from Lee Tomlin and Luke Freeman secured a 2-0 win over the Tractor Boys at Ashton Gate at the start of December.
It was the last time City avoided defeat in the Sky Bet Championship.
“They’re going to be solid and tough, but we beat them 2-0 at Ashton Gate and I think we deserved to win that day,” Brownhill told Bristol City Player HD. “Hopefully we can replicate that result tonight.
“Beating them last time gives us great confidence to do it again – as it does against anyone.
“Over the last eight games or so, I think we’ve deserved to win quite a few of them. Unfortunately the luck isn’t quite with us at the moment, but hopefully that will turn.”
The midfielder made his first start in over two months in the 3-2 defeat to Wolves at Molineux on Boxing Day.
“It was good to be back having not played 90 minutes for a long while,” he added.
“I’ve played some Under-23 games and the tempo in training is quite high, so I always keep myself fit anyway. It all came together when I played against Wolves.
“It was a bit of a surprise. We did some work on the shape of the team in training and that was when the gaffer named the team. I was just happy to be involved and I was pleased with my performance.
“We looked back at the game and the few times we switched off they scored, whereas we haven’t taken enough of our chances in recent games.”
