Josh Brownhill has put pen to paper on a new contract, tying him to the club until the summer of 2021.
The midfielder has been in superb form this season to help lift City into third in the Sky Bet Championship table and reach the Carabao Cup semi-finals – ousting his former club Manchester United.
Head coach Lee Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: “I’m delighted Josh has signed his new deal.
“He has been a fantastic signing for this football club and I believe this is the right place for Josh to continue his development.
“He can earn the right to be a top, top player.”
Chief executive officer Mark Ashton told bcfc.co.uk: “It’s terrific that Josh has committed his long-term future to the club and we look forward to seeing him progress in the future at Ashton Gate.”
Brownhill joined the club in June 2016 from Preston North End and has made 56 appearances to date, scoring four goals.
He turned 22 the day before City’s superb cup win over United at Ashton Gate.
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
