Brownhill Doubtful For Brighton Test

Lee Johnson has revealed Josh Brownhill is the latest City player to be struggling with illness.

The head coach has recently been without Tammy Abraham, Callum O’Dowda and Joel Ekstrand due to a bug in the camp.

But while the other three have fully recovered, midfielder Brownhill is a doubt for the Sky televised clash with Brighton & Hove Albion at Ashton Gate on Saturday (5.30pm).

“We’ve got a couple of bugs that you sometimes pick up in autumn, but we’re hopeful of going into the game with nearly a fully-fit squad,” Johnson told Bristol City Player HD.

“Joel Ekstrand and Callum O’Dowda are both fine and have trained the last three or four days and looked good.

“But there are a couple of fresh concerns – Josh Brownhill has come in today feeling a bit under the weather.

“We’ll get the doctor to assess him, maybe send him home today and see how he is tomorrow.”

Johnson added Frank Fielding is fine after a minor groin problem picked up against Barnsley last time out, but Luke Freeman (ankle) remains sidelined.

Tickets for the game against Brighton can still be purchased online and will also be available on the day. Alternatively, call 0117 963 0600.
