Brown, Reid And Pinto Sign New Deals With BCWFC

Frankie Brown, Hannah Reid and Tatiana Pinto have signed new contracts with Bristol City Women's FC.

Bristol City Women’s manager Willie Kirk spoke of his delight at the three players re-signing for the club, commenting: “It’s great to be able to confirm another three players from last year’s squad committing their immediate future to the club.  I believe that these players will be important players for us in the coming season.”

Frankie Brown joined the club in 2014 from Hibernian Ladies where she played for eight years. Since joining the club Frankie has played an important role within The Vixens’ defence with over 30 appearances. Frankie also has over 70 caps for Scotland.

Kirk added: “Frankie is a player that I’ve known and worked with for 6 years now. I know that I can trust her to give her all in training and in games.  She leads by example in terms of work rate and commitment and is the type of player that you know will fight every second for the cause. As she has gained experience through her club and international career, she has become adaptable in terms of being able to play anywhere along the back line, and this flexibility will be invaluable to us this year.

Scottish youth international goalkeeper Hannah Reid joined the club in the 2015 mid-season break and made an impressive first team debut against Birmingham City Ladies in the Continental Cup.

“Since Hannah joined the club last summer, she has shown a real desire to improve her all round game. She works very hard each day in training and has many attributes of a top keeper, especially her communication and distribution.  I feel that with further improvement this year, she won’t only be important to Bristol City, but she can force her way into the Scotland squad.”

Portuguese international Tatiana Pinto made 13 appearances for The Vixens’ since joining the club in July 2015 and scored her first goal for the club in the final game of the season against Liverpool Ladies.

“Tatiana is a player with massive potential. Out of all the summer signings that I brought in, Tati was probably the one that took longest to adapt to the English game, but potentially she is the one that will stay at this club for the longest. Each week that passed last season, you could see her becoming more comfortable in her surroundings on and off the park and I thought that she was fantastic in our last game of the season v Liverpool. That is the standard that I now expect from her all the time.

“She is very good technically and tactically and she is working hard to improve her speed, agility and endurance. She has a great character and is a player that all her teammates enjoy having around. I’m really looking forward to helping her improve further this year."
