Two young Bristolians have penned their first professional contracts with Bristol City FC.
Lloyd Kelly and George Dowling have agreed terms, signing deals which tie them to the club until 2017.
Defender Lloyd joined the Academy aged 12, having been recruited locally playing for Bristol Central, and even travelled to Botswana with the Community Trust in 2014.
Kelly, 17, also played a key part in pre-season, travelling with the first team squad to Portugal and featuring in friendly matches.
Midfielder Dowling joined the club’s Academy setup at the age of eight and hails from Bedminster.
The 17–year-old midfielder has become a regular starter for the Under-21s.
Academy manager Paul Groves said: “It's great news for the Academy to see two of their own progress so early in their careers.
“Hopefully we will see them continue to improve so fans are able to see two more local players in and around the first team squad.
“Lloyd got a taste of it with the first team in pre-season, while George has progressed quickly since playing for the Under-18s at the age of 16 last term.”
