Joe Bryan is excited about a return to the Sky Bet Championship and believes the squad is good enough to challenge in the second tier.
The Bristolian has spoken of his pride at securing his home-town club’s first league title for 60 years following Saturday’s goalless draw with Coventry City.
“It’s a really proud moment,” the wing-back told Bristol City Player.
“We set out to become champions at the start of the season and we’ve delivered it.
“I think we’ve been really good all season and I think that shows now we’ve won the title with two games to spare.
“We’ve taken so much pride in being top for so long. Even after being promoted at Bradford, that wasn’t the end goal – we wanted the title.
“It’s a shame we couldn’t win the game (against Coventry) but we knew what we needed and made sure we got that result.”
In August City will be back in the Championship after a two-season absence.
“We all want to be playing at a higher level,” added Bryan. “I’m very excited about a return to the Championship.
“Next year is going to be a new challenge. It’s one we’re all looking forward to and good enough for.”
