Bristol City Women are delighted to announce the club will be working in collaboration with the Christmas Appeal and the North Bristol foodbank this year.
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, the foodbank will provide over 1,000 meals to local individuals and families in crisis in the area.
This week, players and staff have all donated in order to raise money to buy food for the charity.
On Saturday, the Vixens host Brighton and Hove Albion in the Continental Tyres Cup at the Stoke Gifford Stadium (5:30pm).
At the match, there will be an opportunity for supporters to make a financial or food box donation in the donation area at the Stoke Gifford Stadium which will be clearly sign posted.
The money and food collected will then be delivered to the food bank next week by players and staff.
Foodbank Manager, Jon Dobson said: “We are still seeing an increase in people falling into financial crisis in the local area and this often gets worse this time of year as energy costs rise.
“I’d like to thank Bristol City Women and all of their supporters on behalf of everyone involved with the foodbank, your donations will go a long way so that we can continue helping local people in need.”
