Bristol City Community Trust student shortlisted for national award

Bristol City Community Trust student, Libby Sims, has been shortlisted for the accolade of Community Education Football Alliance player of the season

Libby is currently enrolled on the Bristol City Community Trust's BTEC level 3 extended diploma in sport programme and has been shortlisted for the Community Education Football Alliance (CEFA) award as a result of her exceptional commitment to both her studies and football.

During her first year on the course Libby would spend her lunch break volunteering as a sports coach at her old school before coming back to attend training for the footballing element of the sport diploma programme.

In addition to this Libby also juggles her studies with a cleaning job, however she never lets this compromise her commitment to her studies or football.

Sports lecturer at the trust, Chloe Rogers, commented that, "Libby has the ability to liberate others in the team and in the class.

"She has been an exceptional student on the programme and is a pleasure to both teach and coach."

There are currently over 1,000 young people registered to the CEFA competition and for Libby to be shortlisted with just four others is testament to her continued exceptional commitment and work rate.

Congratulations Libby.
