Boro are a team of danger men - McAllister

Jamie McAllister says City are "buzzing" for their return to Ashton Gate tomorrow (Saturday, 5.30pm) but will need to be wary of their opponents.

Middlesbrough travel to BS3 for the Sky Bet Championship clash off the back of a 3-0 defeat against Derby County.

McAllister believes the loss will spur the Teessiders on to do better, but the Robins are in confident mood themselves after coming from behind to win 3-2 against Hull City last weekend.

The assistant head coach told BCTV: "In the last 20/25 minutes (at Hull) I thought the boys were outstanding. We came back into the game and scored three good goals.

"We showed a real belief and spirit to win the game at a tough away ground. The boys are buzzing and are full of confidence.

"Middlesbrough are full of quality players and good midfielders in the team. Daniel Ayala being suspended could be a good thing for us but they are on a decent run, having won four of their last six games.

"They come into it off the back of the 3-0 defeat against Derby so I am sure they will want to get back on track.

"They have more than one danger man in their team so it is up to us to focus on doing what we do well and execute the game plan."

CALL TO ARMS AS WINTER ARRIVES

He added: "We need the fans over the next month.

"We have a lot of injuries at the moment and a lot of home games coming up. It's seven games coming up, including the Carabao Cup tie against Manchester United, so we need the supporters to be right behind us.

"They are a massive help and we need a good crowd on Saturday to help the lads. I'm looking forward to what will be a good game against a quality Championship side."

INJURIES

The in-form Callum O'Dowda is facing a spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on his ankle.

One positive though is the return of Joe Bryan, who has been back in training this week after a hip problem and will be in contention for Saturday.

McAllister added: "We have strength in depth. We can't keep losing someone every week but the lads just keep digging in and working hard for each other."
