City Women shot-stopper Fran Bentley has been voted FA Championship Player of the Week for her performance in the Robins' draw against Liverpool.
Bentley kept City’s first clean sheet of the season at the Robins gained a valuable point on the road at Prenton Park.
The keeper was not often called into action but her commanding performance at the set-piece and sweeping in behind the back four alleviated a lot of danger as the Reds looked to use their pace to get in behind the Robins’ defence.
Bentley made a big-time save in the early stages of the second half to deny Leanne Kiernan, who was baring down on the City goal to keep the scores locked up at 0-0.
Classy.
Aint nobody, like @franbentleyy! 🙌
