Elliott Bennett has joined Blackburn Rovers on a permanent deal after his loan spell at Ashton Gate expired.
The wing-back links up with Paul Lambert, the recently-appointed Blackburn boss, for the third time in his career after penning a two-and-a-half year contract.
City had been hoping to persuade Bennett to stay at Ashton Gate after a successful loan spell from Norwich City, which saw him make 15 appearances for the club.
Manager Steve Cotterill is due to address the media at his regularly weekly press conference tomorrow (Thursday), with Bennett’s exit sure to be one of the many topics up for discussion.
