Elliott Bennett feels last night’s display against Cardiff City shows the squad’s hunger to move up the Sky Bet Championship table.
The Severnside derby ended goalless at the Cardiff City Stadium, but City put in another admirable and dominant performance.
Wing-back Bennett almost won it for City when his late shot hit the outside of the post and he believes more positive results are on their way.
“We played well and we’re disappointed we didn’t win,” he told Bristol City Player HD.
“That shows the quality in the dressing room when you come away to Cardiff, put on a really good performance and feel like you should have won the game.
“It’s testament to the desire the lads have to start climbing the table.
“I think everyone watching would’ve said if any team were going to win it would’ve been Bristol City. Results will eventually turn and go our way.”
Bennett has settled in well to life at Ashton Gate after joining on loan from Norwich City less than three weeks ago.
The 26-year-old has featured in City’s last three matches and insists Steve Cotterill’s side are more than capable to establish themselves in the division.
“There’s more than enough in dressing room,” he said.
“I though we were brilliant last night and I’m sure there will be times during the season where we won’t play well but nick game.
“It’s a really good set of lads, a real good squad and it’s just about turning those really good, dominant performances into three points.”
