Belief we can do Derby double - Fielding

Frank Fielding is confident City can get back to winning ways against Derby County on Friday night (7.45pm kick-off).

Fielding who spent two full seasons at Pride Park is set to line up against his former employers for the Sky Bet Championship clash.

Derby County are without defeat in the league since late November, while City are winless since Boxing Day. However, the Robins were victorious in the reverse fixture at Ashton Gate earlier in the season, when they secured a 4-1 victory.

And goalkeeper Fielding believes City can turn their 2018 fortunes around and seal another three points against the second-placed Rams on Friday night.

He told BCTV: "They are a good team with really good players and they’re doing really well.

"We’re doing really well too although we haven’t had the results we wanted recently but we’ll get back on the horse and pick up some more wins.

"I think it (the Championship) is one of the hardest leagues in the world; everyone can beat everyone and we’ll take that into Friday.

"Not many people will expect us to get a result there but we believe that as as a squad we can get a result there."

Reflecting on his time at Pride Park, which also included two loan spells, Fielding added: "They were good times really, I really enjoyed it. I was playing reserve team football and then the move came out of the play.

"I didn’t expect to go there but I enjoyed signing for them. It now seems a long time ago."
