Nathan Baker says he is thoroughly enjoying his loan spell at Ashton Gate.
Despite a couple of injury setbacks, the Aston Villa defender has already made eight appearances for the club.
And on the pitch Baker believes there is plenty of progress being made.
He told Bristol City Player HD: “It’s good and the lads have helped me to settle in. They’re a good bunch and most of them are my age anyway, which helps.
“I’ve managed to get a few games under my belt. There have been a couple of setbacks in terms of injury so far but hopefully I can put that behind me now.
“It was a bit touch and go for Tuesday night (against Wolves) because you can’t be too risky with hamstring injuries, but I trained fine the day before and got the go ahead to play.
“It was a great response from the lads to bounce back from a 4-1 defeat at home. We’ve done well on Tuesday night and need to build on that now.”
City will be looking to record their first back-to-back victories of the season when they face Bolton Wanderers at the Macron Stadium tomorrow (3pm).
Neil Lennon’s side currently sit one place below and four points behind City in the Sky Bet Championship, offering the visitors a perfect chance to increase the gap from the relegation zone heading into the international break.
Baker added: “From the games I’ve seen and been involved in, the performances have been good and a few late goals have let us down. One point could easily have been three on a few occasions; then we’d be further up the league.
“I certainly think we’re going in the right direction.”
