Nathan Baker will serve a three-match suspension after an appeal against his dismissal was rejected by The FA.
The defender was shown a straight red card for his tackle on Josh Scowen in the first half of Saturday’s 2-0 win over QPR.
City decided to launch an appeal after reviewing footage of the incident, but the FA's Disciplinary Panel has upheld his three-match ban, which starts immediately.
It means Baker will be absent for Friday’s televised clash with Bolton Wanderers, as well as the forthcoming fixtures with Sunderland (home, Saturday, February 10th) and Leeds United (away, Sunday, February 18th).
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
