Baker and O’Dowda back in training

Nathan Baker and Callum O’Dowda, pictured, were back in training with City on Monday (March 1st) as they continued their roads to full recovery,

And it was another positive day at Failand with Andreas Weimann also running outside for the first time since knee surgery.

Centre-back Baker is now back on the grass after recovering from a thigh injury which halted his comeback, while O’Dowda (hamstring) has also returned to Failand. Weimann has recovered from his damaged anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.

It is positive news regarding the three players but Manager Nigel Pearson is keen not to rush them back to action before time.

He said: “There’s a temptation, due to necessity to hurry things along, but when they’re back I want them to stay back. We will get them back when they’re ready to play.

“It’s not about putting them in a difficult position, they all want to be fit to play but we have to deal with availability difficulties and that happens in football, so we have to get on with it.”
