Bristol City Women's Sophie Baggaley has been voted the first ever winner of the PFA Women's Player of the Month Award for September.
In a vote run by the PFA, the goalkeeper received 50% of the vote from fans for September with Birmingham City Women’s Meaghan Sargeant taking second place.
Baggaley’s strong performances – where she kept two clean sheets in four games and helped her side win 1-0 away to Brighton as well as take points off of Man City and champions, Chelsea - over the last month has resonated with City’s fans and supporters of all clubs alike.
The England Youth International made a staggering twenty-six saves in September in the WSL, seventeen of them coming from close range and throughout the month she saved 91% of all efforts she faced.
This accolade adds to the awards Baggaley has received so far this season with the goalkeeper having also been voted FAWSL Player of the Month in a poll run by the FA.
