Bristol City Women goalkeeper Sophie Baggaley has been named the FA Women’s Super League Player of the Month for September.
Baggaley has conceded only two goals in two hundred and seventy minutes of FAWSL action throughout September, keeping clean sheets against both Brighton and Hove Albion and Chelsea.
On receiving the award from the FAWSL, Sophie Baggaley said, “First of all I would like to say that I am very grateful to receive this award and would like thank those who voted for me.
“I’m really pleased with how the whole squad and I have started the season, for me I’ve just been working hard to get better everyday and do the best I can for the team and it’s great to see the work I’ve put in on the training ground come into my performances on the pitch.
“It’s been a difficult start to the season with the teams we have faced, but we have worked hard as a group towards the same goal and that has allowed us to come away with the results.”
Baggaley will be looking to get the better of her former side when Bristol City Women welcome Birmingham City Women to the SGS College Stoke Gifford Stadium in the FAWSL on Sunday, October 14th (3pm KO) and tickets for the game can be purchased here.
