City Under-23s recorded back-to-back wins in the space of seven days with a 1-0 away win to Ipswich Town.
Marcus Day netted the only goal of the Professional Development League fixture with a composed finish minutes before half-time, having been released by Tyreeq Bakinson.
City, who overcame Crystal Palace 2-1 last time out, opened brightly and controlled possession, with Hakeeb Adelakun's threatening crosses testing the Tractor Boys' defence early on.
The Robins went close to taking the lead when Tommy Conway picked out the advanced Sam Bell, but he was ruled offside, while Bakinson shot over the bar after good work by Adelakun.
Conway was instrumental in the goal, holding the ball up for Zac Smith, who took a touch and put a slide-rule pass in for Bakinson to free Day.
The Robins had to defend for large parts of the second half with Aden Baldwin and Harvey Smith strong at the back.
City almost doubled their advantage when Callum Pearson went down the right, but Bell and Conway could not to convert the chance between them.
Up next for City is a trip to Coventry City on Monday, December 16th at the Alan Higgs Centre (KO 1pm).
