Steve Cotterill has paid tribute to a real team effort behind the scenes after receiving individual recognition at the end of season LMA Awards.
The Bristol City boss landed the League One Manager of the Year prize as well as a special achievement award for guiding the club to the title and Johnstone’s Paint Trophy success in his first full season in charge at Ashton Gate.
But Cotterill was quick to point out the contribution of the Board, players, staff and supporters in helping him celebrate an unprecedented double for the team with one of his own.
"I could not have achieved that on my own and these awards are really for everyone at the football club,” he said.
"I could not have done it without the help and support of Steve Lansdown, Keith Dawe and the rest of the Board.
"The players and staff also played a really big part and then there were all those fans who gave me and the team such fantastic support throughout the season.
"This award is for every one of those people as well as for me. It's been a big team effort at Bristol City.
"It's been a wonderful year. Success at any club is down to team spirit and a way of playing. If you get those ingredients, you have a chance."
Cotterill, who was presented with his trophies by Southampton manager Ronald Koeman and Real Sociedad boss David Moyes, took great pride in winning the votes of his Sky Bet League One peers.
"It is always extra special to be recognised by your fellow professionals. To have the respect of my fellow managers in League One means a lot to me,” he added.
"They gave me the special achievement award for winning the double and that was a nice touch. I really appreciate it.
"But while it is an individual award, I prefer to see it as something that reflects well on the club as a whole."
