🎥 Atkinson stars in first clean sheet

Rob Atkinson says City can be pleased with their performance against Preston North End, who they held to a goalless draw to earn a first clean sheet of the campaign.

The defender went close to scoring his first goal for the club, forcing keeper Daniel Iversen into a save after a solo run and left-footed shot in the first half.

That was just one moment where Atkinson earned the applause of the Ashton Gate crowd, as he helped the side keep a clean sheet with the joint-most tackles (3) and interceptions made (2) while individually leading the way for clearances made (5).

Reflecting on the afternoon, the centre-back told Robins TV: “I think it was a very good game for the neutral and on another day it might have been 3-3 or 4-3.

“We can’t be too down, we played well and we have to take our chances. I’d normally say that about strikers but I’m included in that today!

“We played well, we’re happy from that point of view. Ultimately to be the happiest you need to take the three points.”
