Ashley Williams: The UFO-amazed culinary king

Some would argue the latest Robins Nest podcast is out of this world, with defender Ashley Williams discussing his love of UFO documentaries with host Downsy.

The Wales international is the latest guest of the popular official club podcast, with the new episode streaming as of last week.

“I watch some weird things,” he admitted. “If you ask Korey, he is always going on about me watching UFO programmes so he thinks I’m a little bit weird!”

Williams continued: “If I get into the room first and put the TV on they are probably going to have to watch a UFO programme before The Chase starts.

“I’m not saying that [I believe in them], I just have an interest in those programmes. I don’t know if they exist or not but if I have nothing to watch I will go a documentary that the lads will find really weird. They’re always laughing at me with conspiracy theories and stuff like that!”

Another topic of discussion was Williams’ love of cooking and the centre-back fancies himself as culinary wizard should he get to put his cooking skills to the test against other footballers.

He said: “Since we’ve been in lockdown I’ve become a top chef. I always a top chef but now I might have to own my own restaurants afterwards,” he joked. “My culinary skills are up here at the minute. I can cook anything, it’s not a problem for me at the minute.

“I do feel if we had a football cooking programme, I’d be on there. I like to think I can hold my own with anyone right now.”
