Frank Fielding's season is over after the goalkeeper suffered ankle ligament damage in Monday’s Under-21 game.
The goalkeeper was substituted after just six minutes in the match after falling awkwardly in the Professional Development League encounter at Failand.
Fortunately Fielding did not suffer a fracture in the tumble; however, scans have shown up ligament damage.
Head coach Lee Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: “Frankie’s had a huge setback. Although thankfully there’s been no break, he has damaged his ligaments. That’s his season done.
“I feel really sorry for him. He’s gone from being an ever-present in last year’s success to his injury troubles which have thwarted his season this time around.”
Max O’Leary has been recalled from his loan spell at Kidderminster Harriers.
