🎥 ‘An honest performance - I like that!' - Pearson

Nigel Pearson saluted a ‘professional’ and ‘honest’ away performance to claim victory over Stoke City.

Jay Dasilva’s 84th-minute strike separated City from their hosts at the bet365 Stadium to send the 728 Robins fans home happy.

And manager Pearson was delighted with his side’s character, telling Robins TV that the players should receive ‘the credit for how they have stuck at it’.

“It was a real honest performance today and I like that,” said Pearson. “As an away side to frustrate their crowd and their players to such an extent…it was difficult for them.

“Sometimes we have bemoaned our lack of luck but as we said against Blackburn away you have to be in it to win it.

“We kept things tight, it looked as though the game was going to fizzle out and we get two or three chances out of nothing and Jay puts one in the top corner so – you make your luck.”

Pearson added: “We upset our fans a little bit at home last week and our fans today go home with a good feeling because they have travelled in numbers and seen a very honest performance.”
