Steve Allen has been handed the Football Medical Association’s Longstanding Service Award.
The City head physiotherapist picked up the highly-prestigious honour at their annual awards ceremony at the Radisson Blu in Derby.
He said: “It was a real honour to collect the award in front of 200 of my peers; doctors and physiotherapists from across the country.
“It was a truly humbling experience and a very proud moment in my career.”
Allen – who moved to Ashton Gate in 2013 – boasts a wealth of football experience, having been with Colchester United, Wimbledon, Crystal Palace, Cardiff City, West Ham United, Charlton Athletic and Portsmouth.
Throughout his career Allen has taken a keen interest in community engagement and helped the club set up its partnership with Children’s Hospice South West, helping to raise in excess of £80,000 over two seasons.
With just a few days to go until Elton John plays at Ashton Gate, concert-goers are urged to take advantage of special event Shuttle Buses laid on to help get fans to and from the stadium.
