Flo Allen has signed a new one year deal at Bristol City Women with an option of a further year.
The 19-year-old defender penned her first professional deal at the SGS College Stoke Gifford Stadium in June 2018 and has committed to further year with the club.
The full-back returned to first team action at the end of the 2018/19 campaign after missing the majority season with a hip injury.
Allen is a product of the Bristol City Women Academy and represented the Lionesses at Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 youth levels.
Manager Tanya Oxtoby commented: I’m really excited to see Flo try reach her potential this season, while staying fit, so she can contribute to what we’re trying to achieve this season.
“Flo is one of the group favourites, so it was really tough to see her go through her injury last season.
“We’re really glad we were able to get her back on the pitch towards the back end of the season to reward her hard work, she did everything she could for the group during her time out injured.
“We have a fantastic team environment where everyone gets on with each other and I wanted to be involved with that moving forward. Hopefully we’ll be an even tighter group this year and the performances will be even better for that."
Allen said: “I’m over the moon to be staying at Bristol City and I hope that I can really kick on this season and stay injury free. Last year was really tough for me but I learnt a lot being injured and my resilience paid off towards the end of the season with a couple of games.
“We have a fantastic team environment where everyone gets on with each other and I wanted to be involved with that moving forward. Hopefully we’ll be an even tighter group this year and the performances will be even better for that.
“Tanya has been great and since she has come in we have seen an increased professionalism around the club and that has shown on the pitch.
“The club has gone from strength to strength and personally, I’m very excited to be playing for a second season under her. I love our stye of play and I hope this year will be another great year for the club.”
