All eyes on the FA Cup

Tickets remain on sale for tomorrow's Emirates FA Cup third round tie versus Shrewsbury Town (January 4th, 12.31pm KO).

Lee Johnson’s men are looking to bounce back, following defeat on New Year’s Day in the Sky Bet Championship, with Ashton Gate set to surround itself in the magic of the historic cup competition.

City beat Huddersfield Town and Bolton Wanderers en route to the fifth round last season, the furthest they have gone in the FA Cup since 2001.

The Robins’ third-round opponents Shrewsbury Town last visited BS3 in the final pre-season match ahead of the 2018/19 campaign, with Callum O’Dowda on the scoresheet for the Robins that day.

The League One outfit currently sit mid-table in their respective division, in part thanks to goalkeeper Max O’Leary who is on a season-long loan with the Shrews. Due to the terms of his loan agreement, the shotstopper is unable to feature in Saturday’s contest.

All third round fixtures will kick-off a minute later than originally scheduled to encourage fans to ‘Take A Minute’ to think about looking after their mental health, as part of the Heads Up campaign.

It is hoped that the initiative will raise awareness of the importance of looking after our mental health, with 60 seconds representing just the first step in the journey to improved wellbeing. During the minute delay, fans will be encouraged to consider the positive impact 60 seconds can have on their own wellbeing or in supporting a friend or family member.
