Bristol City Women FC can confirm the signing of Ali Johnson for the upcoming 2018/2019 Women’s Super League season.
Left-back Johnson arrives from league opponents, Liverpool Ladies FC where she made a total of seventeen appearances last season.
The nineteen-year-old is a well balance full-back who will provide a great threat going forward as well as adding strength to the Vixens defence.
Johnson is in line to represent England this summer as she has been selected in the squad that will travel to France for the Under 20 World Cup in August.
"Ali is a talented young player who has great potential for both club and country.
"We think our environment will help her reach that potential and she will be a great asset to the club for the upcoming season", said manager Tanya Oxtoby.
The left-back believes joining Bristol at this early stage in her career is a step in the right direction to becoming a well-established player in the Women’s Super League.
“I’m looking forward to the new challenge ahead.
“What really drew me to Bristol was their aim to take young players like myself and develop them in to well-established players in this league.
“I can’t wait to get started and work with Tanya, she’s got a clear vision of what she wants to do as well as what is expected from us as players.”, said Johnson.
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
