Kieran Agard and Mark Little are nearing a return to starting contention.
The duo were joined by Wes Burns as City first team players involved in Monday’s Under-21 game against Sheffield United at Failand – a 2-1 win in which Agard opened the scoring.
Both men completed 60 minutes in another positive step forward in their respective recoveries from knee and shoulder problems respectively.
Manager Steve Cotterill told Bristol City Player HD: “Kieran needed to get some minutes under his belt and he still does – he hasn’t really had a pre-season.
“We had a little bit more game time for Mark Little as well, so it was a good workout for us.
“I don’t know whether they’re available to start games or not. Sometimes you have to build up their fitness where you start them and end up burning them out for a period of time.
“At this moment in time they’re probably better coming off the bench, but it’s a little bit different with Mark than it is with Kieran.
“Kieran is probably over that injury, whereas Mark is a slower rehabilitation.
“He can play and be involved, but he’s not up to full power yet and probably won’t get that until he gets a bit more mobility in that shoulder.”
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
