Academy players selected for Wales training camp

Two Bristol City Under-16 players have been selected to attend a Wales national training camp next week.

Joseph Low and Jamie Taylor – who have both been offered Under-18 contracts with Bristol City – will be heading to Newport’s Dragon Park on April 16th for the two-day camp in an elite environment.

The itinerary for the young players includes training sessions, testing, medical clinics and team meetings. The boys will also be taking part in compulsory education sessions as their GCSE exams start next month.

Taylor, known as ‘JET’ to his team mates, is becoming a regular face in the Welsh youth teams. He has represented his country as both an Under-15 and Under-16 and will be looking to target the Wales Under-18 squad in the next season or two.

Meanwhile, Low has also impressed Welsh selectors this season. His first call-up came in September, when he was a standby for the Under-17 squad travelling to Hungary.

In February he received his first full call-up and travelled to Greece with the Under-16 development squad. He’ll be another one to watch as he moves up to City’s Under-18 squad next season.
