Players from our Under-18 and Under-23 teams are taking on the Simplyhealth Great Bristol 10k in aid of Children's Hospice South West.
Players and staff members from our Academy will be running the Simplyhealth Great Bristol 10k on Sunday, May 13th to raise money for the Children's Hospice South West.
The group of 25 have pledged to raise £2,500 for the cause and most will be aiming to beat the times they ran at last year's event.
The Children's Hospice South West provides end-of-life care for terminally ill children and their families. A recent visit by our Under-18 team highlighted the tireless work the Hospice staff put in and the finances needed to keep their good work going.
Pete Coleman, head of welfare, organised the inaugural effort last year and is keen for it to become an annual tradition. He said: "I am so impressed with the boys' enthusiasm. Their visit to CHSW has made them more determined than ever to support the Hospice and the excellent work they do there."
The race, which starts in the centre of Bristol, takes in the sights of the city and attracts over 10,000 runners each year. The 2017 event clashed with Bristol City's last game of the season so the boys had the added challenge of getting across to Ashton Gate for kick-off after finishing - which they managed with just minutes to spare.
