Max O’Leary says City stuck in to earn a “positive” point on the road against Blackburn Rovers.
This was a result which would stretch the Robins’ unbeaten away streak to four games after three wins in a row.
It was also a second successive clean sheet with O’Leary between the sticks at Ewood Park after getting the nod to replace Dan Bentley who was feeling unwell.
O’Leary did not have the busiest night but was still alert when needed as again he proved himself ready for action when required, including a diving left-handed save from Joe Rankin-Costello at his near post.
Reflecting on the evening, City’s Academy graduate said: “This has happened before, it’s a late call-up but it’s always nice to get a game and keep pushing Bents as well. Of course I hope he’s alright.
“I think we did what we needed to do in the end, we stuck in there and got the point. It’s a solid performance, they didn’t create too many threatening chances. They had a lot of the ball and we sat behind it a bit, but we felt comfortable in the end.
“We haven’t drawn many, we’ve lost a few some later on, so to get a draw here, away from home is a positive.”
Next for City is a return to Ashton Gate where they host the Millers this Saturday, March 20th. The Sky Bet Championship fixture will be streamed live on Robins TV with coverage starting at 2.30pm.
