🎥 'A great squad effort' - Pearson

Nigel Pearson praised the collective squad effort that saw the Robins claim back-to-back away wins with three points at Pride Park.

And Weimann’s 20th goal of the season, a strike from Antoine Semenyo and a Timm Klose header made the headlines.

But victory was also based on a largely solid defensive display that included a debut for 19-year-old Duncan Idehen and saw Sam Bell, Han-Noah Massengo and Andy King come off the bench.

“I thought in the first half we were excellent. In the second half we didn’t quite pass the ball as well as we could have done but we still created so many chances,” Pearson told Robins TV.

“We could have made it a bit easier for ourselves but it’s a very good win nevertheless. I am really pleased with how the squad got us over the line – we needed all the subs we used. It’s a really good result for us and I’m pleased that we have been able to get another away win.”

Pearson went on to talk about:

  • Andi Weimann’s ‘work-rate’ and 20-goal landmark
  • The ‘brilliant’ Chris Martin
  • Duncan Idehen’s debut
  • Alex Scott’s broken nose
  • Travelling Cider Army
  • Hope that Derby County can bounce back from relegation
